Questions about the AAAA lookup

What is an AAAA record?

A DNS record that maps a name to an IPv6 address, the way an A record maps it to an IPv4 address.

Do mail servers need IPv6?

No. Email works over IPv4 alone. A server that does send over IPv6 needs a PTR record and an SPF entry for that address too.

Why does the lookup show addresses I did not add?

Your web host or CDN may publish IPv6 addresses for you. Check the records at your DNS host.
