What your result means

Does not match

The PTR host name does not point back to the address.

No PTR record

Gmail and other receivers expect a PTR record on every address that sends email.

Questions about the reverse lookup

What is a PTR record?

The record that maps an IP address back to a host name. The holder of the address block, often your host or provider, sets it.

Why does reverse DNS matter for email?

Receivers check that a sending address has a PTR record and that its host name points back to the same address. Gmail requires both from senders.

I use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. Do I set PTR records?

No. Google and Microsoft send from their own addresses and set those PTR records themselves.
