Questions about the SRV lookup

What is an SRV record?

A record that tells clients which host and port run a service, such as SIP calls or Microsoft Autodiscover.

How do I write the service name?

Start with the service and protocol labels, then the domain: _service._protocol.yourbrand.com, for example _autodiscover._tcp.yourbrand.com.

What do priority and weight mean?

Clients try the lowest priority first. Among servers with the same priority, weight sets how the load is shared.
